Lina's first flat tire ever occurred close to this picturesque roadside cafe where we therefore decided to take a combined lunch and repair break. The wide shoulders of the Kiev-Odesa road have been scattered with debris from torn-up truck tires, and it seems very likely that it was a piece of sharp metal wire that punctured Lina's back tire. She endured the incident bravely and is now pedaling happily ahead with her fancy new red and black tire.
