All this and electricity, too!

As you may have noticed I'm not one to skimp of superlatives, but this time I really mean it: tonight we're staying in one of the most amazing places ever. It's a farmhouse in a village called Zedowice, located in the area between Wroclaw and Katowice that we're crossing to get east without going through the big cities.

We ended up here purely by accident but fell in love with the place at first sight of the river running by the house and the dogs playing in the garden. There's a puppy, five kittens, three horses, two rabbits, a large amount of ducks (or geese? who knows…), and very possibly some more animals we just haven't met yet. There's also a red Massey Ferguson and tons of kayaks stacked on trailers, as they organize kayaking excursions here.

But the coolest thing might be this: The family generate their own energy with two large turbines running in the small river. In the summer only one of them is working, but it still creates enough energy for them to be even able to sell the surplus.

And all this after Kaisa complained all day that nothing exciting would ever happen to us again after we left the mountains. Now she'll never hear the end of this…
